Know What You Actually Earn
The payout on your screen is not your pay. Gas and vehicle wear come out of it before you ever see the money. Put in a real order and find out what it leaves you per hour.
- Free, and there is no account to make.
- Your car settings stay in your own browser — nothing is sent anywhere.
- Every deduction is shown with the arithmetic, so you can check it.

Is this order worth it?
Three numbers. Your real hourly rate.
Apps only show one‑way distance. This defaults to the same distance back, but the drive back often isn’t the same — change it if it’s not.
Adjust for your car
What it is: what the miles cost you once the gas is paid for — tires, brakes, oil, repairs, and the resale value the odometer takes off your car. Your car payment, insurance and registration are left out: those cost the same whether you take this order or sit still.
A newer car costs more per mile because it has more value left to lose. An older one costs more to repair but sheds far fewer dollars.
The presets are estimates, not a published rate. For your own figure: take what your car is worth today minus what the same car a year older is worth, divide by the miles you drive in a year, then add last year’s repair and tire bills divided by those same miles. Type the total in the box.
Wear is depreciation and maintenance only — not the 72.5¢ IRS rate. Roughly a third of that figure is insurance and registration you pay whether or not you take this order. The presets are estimates; the “i” above shows how to work out your own.
The three numbers that decide whether a shift was worth it
Work them out once and every accept-or-decline decision afterwards gets easier.
The full version of the tool above, with every line of the breakdown: payout, gas, wear, and the three different hourly rates the same order produces.
Open the calculator Your Fuel Cost Per MileOne figure, five minutes, and it sits underneath every order you will ever be offered. Most drivers have never worked theirs out.
Work yours out Mileage You Can DeductUntracked miles are not deductible miles. What to record, which app to record it with, and what the IRS actually wants to see.

The calculator spells out every deduction — gallons used, cents per mile, the rate it applied — so you can redo it on paper and get the same answer.
We say when a link pays us
Gear guides contain Amazon affiliate links. The disclosure is in the footer of every page and again inside each guide that has one.
Not the IRS rate
We do not treat 72.5¢ a mile as your cost. About a third of that figure is insurance and registration you pay whether or not you take the order, so it cannot help you decide. The calculator uses depreciation and maintenance only.
Nothing to sign up for
The calculator runs in your browser and keeps your settings there. The newsletter is optional, and the rest of the site works without it.
